If you have a proof please show me. This is one of those anecdotes that gets passed along as if it were common knowledge and truth. In fact it isn't.
Consider the infinite number of nearly, but not exactly ,works of Shakespeare. That set is infinitely bigger than the finite works of Shakespeare.
But there are an infinite number of these types of sets - each with an infinite number of members of that set - of close, but not quite works of Shakespeare.
Then there are the sets of works that are even less like Shakespeare - an infinite number, in fact, from recognizable text to complete gibberish.
Each of those sets is infinitely larger than the finite set of Shakespeare's works AND there is an infinite number of those sets.
So we're searching for a finite result in an infinite number of sets of infinite possibilities - with "only" an infinite number of tries.
It won't happen.
We apply "infinity" as a general description of boundless sets. In truth, there are many types of boundless sets - each one representing a different level of infinity.
One can begin with "normal" or "countable" numbers. [1,2,3,...]
Whole numbers just adds 0 [0,1,2,3, ....]
Intergers [....-2, -1, 0, 1, 2 ....]
Rational numbers - all numbers representable as x/y where x and y are intergers
Irrational numbers - numbers not expressable as x/y such as square root of 2 or pi
(pi is in a special subset of irrational numbers called transcendental numbers.)
"aleph" is the mathematical name for levels of infinity with Aleph-null being the set of normal numbers.
The best way I can describe Aleph-1 is the set of real numbers (which excludes numbers such as the square root of (-1) which is a non-real number).
In truth Aleph-1, in it's precise definition, depends on the type of set theory you are describing.
Clear as mud, right?
Tomorrow I'll teach you Chinese.

The thought of mathematics involving infinity cracks me up. Infinity is strictly an abstract concept.

Given an infinite amount of time... Apeiron, my pet monkey can do what you suggest all on his own. In fact, he already has, we just haven’t gotten there yet.
He’s also a wiz at cracking passwords.
